NEW ORLEANS, LA, August 182, 2011. - In bringing together public and private emergency management professionals from all industry sectors and from around the world, the International Disaster Conference & Expo (IDCE2012), to be held January 17-19, 2012, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, promises to be one of the emergency management industry’s most substantive and important meetings ever. Today, show management for IDCE2012 announced the addition of another official endorser and participant in the Conference program, the Association of Contingency Planners (ACP). The ACP will participate in the Business Continuity and Private Sector Preparedness track of the program, which is being conducted by the LSU Stephenson Disaster Management Institute.
“To miss being involved in this Conference would be a big mistake,” noted Bonnie Canal, president of ACP’s Southeast Louisiana chapter. Canal is overseeing the ACP’s involvement in IDCE2012, including scheduling several Conference breakout sessions for ACP members. “It is a great opportunity to continue the dialogue with the public-private partnership and to reach across industry sectors to all concerned with sustainability.”
The ACP is the voice of business continuity planners. The association counts 43 chapters and more than 2450 members in North America, and has strategic partnerships with international groups with similar interests. ACP joins other key industry associations that have signed on as IDCE2012 endorsers and participants, including the Federal Emergency Management Agency, International Association of Emergency Managers and National Emergency Managers Association.
“Given the IDCE focus on uniting the public and private sectors of emergency management, homeland security and the entire disaster cycle of preparation, response, recovery, and mitigation, ACP brings the voice of the business continuity professional to the important discussions to take place at IDCE,” noted show organizer Jimmy Mouton, president of Imago Tradeshows.
In addition to having the opportunity to exchange information and share best practices with fellow emergency professionals, IDEC2012 attendees will hear from notable speakers, presenters, panelists and special guests from around the globe. International industry leaders from Canada, the Caribbean, Netherlands, Australia, Europe, China, Japan, Haiti and more, some who have served their nations and localities during some of the most traumatic events of our times, will share their nation’s stories and lessons learned.
The International Disaster Conference and Exposition (IDCE21012), to be held January 17-19, 2012, at the New Orleans Ernest N.
