ACPInternational Disaster Conference & Expo Welcomes Association of Contingency Planners as Endorser and Participant

NEW ORLEANS, LA, August 182, 2011. - In bringing together public and private emergency management professionals from all industry sectors and from around the world, the International Disaster Conference & Expo (IDCE2012), to be held January 17-19, 2012, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, promises to be one of the emergency management industry’s most substantive and important meetings ever. Today, show management for IDCE2012 announced the addition of another official endorser and participant in the Conference program, the Association of Contingency Planners (ACP). The ACP will participate in the Business Continuity and Private Sector Preparedness track of the program, which is being conducted by the LSU Stephenson Disaster Management Institute.

“To miss being involved in this Conference would be a big mistake,” noted Bonnie Canal, president of ACP’s Southeast Louisiana chapter. Canal is overseeing the ACP’s involvement in IDCE2012, including scheduling several Conference breakout sessions for ACP members. “It is a great opportunity to continue the dialogue with the public-private partnership and to reach across industry sectors to all concerned with sustainability.”

The ACP is the voice of business continuity planners. The association counts 43 chapters and more than 2450 members in North America, and has strategic partnerships with international groups with similar interests. ACP joins other key industry associations that have signed on as IDCE2012 endorsers and participants, including the Federal Emergency Management Agency, International Association of Emergency Managers and National Emergency Managers Association.

“Given the IDCE focus on uniting the public and private sectors of emergency management, homeland security and the entire disaster cycle of preparation, response, recovery, and mitigation, ACP brings the voice of the business continuity professional to the important discussions to take place at IDCE,” noted show organizer Jimmy Mouton, president of Imago Tradeshows.

In addition to having the opportunity to exchange information and share best practices with fellow emergency professionals, IDEC2012 attendees will hear from notable speakers, presenters, panelists and special guests from around the globe. International industry leaders from Canada, the Caribbean, Netherlands, Australia, Europe, China, Japan, Haiti and more, some who have served their nations and localities during some of the most traumatic events of our times, will share their nation’s stories and lessons learned.

The International Disaster Conference and Exposition (IDCE21012), to be held January 17-19, 2012, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, will bring together emergency management, homeland security and disaster industry professionals from the public and private sectors around the world to share lessons learned and forward thinking regarding the policies, procedures and best practices shaping disaster preparation, response and recovery, loss mitigation, business continuity and more. Conference speakers, exhibitors and attendees will share the latest knowledge, technologies and techniques toward the common goal of minimizing the loss of life and property in future catastrophic events. Industry professionals can register to attend IDCE2012 through the IDCE website at www.internationaldisasterconference.com.

"Our product is designed for users who have a critical need to record information, even if conditions are less than ideal. There is no better venue to show it than at the International Disaster Conference and Expo."

Famhost

Famhost is a software developer, integrator, and application service provider. Its core application has been used since 1985 by Roto-Rooter and other large field service contractors who need mobility. It enables enterprises with multi-branch and multi-business needs to use call centers for their CRM and ERP operations.

Famhost provides solutions where mobility is required and has provided enterprise "cloud" business solutions since 2002. To augment the service business management systems, Famhost was a pioneer in GPS tracking and digital writing technologies. GPS enables the company to route jobs and dispatch the closest vehicles. They employ a Garmin navigational unit which the driver can use as a time clock, query job information, and send and receive messages from the dispatcher or manager. The Linkwriter system provides a secure, real-time point of sale solution. Because of the problems associated with using tablets and smart phones with the digital pen system, Famhost developed a cloud service to make deployments easier.

Product Spotlight:

LinkWriterThe Linkwriter digital pen system enables a remote worker to write on any form with a digital pen and instantly create a high quality digital copy of the form and writing. The data is transmitted via Bluetooth to a secure modem which relays the data to any backend system where it can be processed. The user can use multiple digital pen solutions and the data is automatically transmitted to the appropriate service provider or enterprise server.

Digital writing is useful in cases where connectivity or mobile devices are difficult to manage. It enables field workers to fill out invoices, work tickets, inventory sheets, surveys, contracts, credit card forms, and virtually any form or note and send a high quality digital copy in near real time to the office or enterprise service. No processes need to change, no technical training, and no IT administration is required to set up the system or control users from using social media or inappropriate sites. Cost savings are substantial because the deployments are easy. The user simply writes with a pen and paper and doesn’t have to learn new applications. They can concentrate on their core competencies and still satisfy the security requirements and need to digitize and improve work flow processes.
